About Your Factotum
I'm Ivan.

I've stood behind the counter. I've been the guy who gets handed a system nobody trained him on and told to make it work by Monday.
That's still what I do. I just do it for more than one kind of counter now.
I build and fix storefronts on Shopify, Lightspeed, or whatever the shop's actually running. I clean up product data until it makes sense. I set up the automations that mean things get done while you're closed instead of piling up until you're not. I got deep enough into Manage Comics that I co-wrote the manual.
Not all of it is ecommerce, either. I've fixed carrier registration so texts stop bouncing, tracked down an attachment bug that had been quietly breaking a client's workflow for months, and set up Google Workspace from scratch for three different clients now.
If it's broken and it's in front of me, I'll fix it.
That's not really a service description, it's just how I'm built. A broken thing in front of me is a puzzle I can't walk away from, which is usually why clients keep me around, more than whatever the original fix was.
I know what Chuck needs, because I was Chuck. Working next to guys like Steve, trying to keep things running.
Hi, Chuck.
What I Actually Help With
- Fixing storefront problems that don't make sense, no matter what platform it's built on.
- Cleaning up messy product data and store structure.
- Building automations so you're not doing everything by hand.
- Setting up data systems that actually tell you something useful.
- Being the person you can ask when something doesn't add up.
How This Usually Works
You don't need to learn your platform inside and out. You just need someone who already has, on more than one of them, and who'll explain what's actually happening without making you sit through a tech lecture to get there.
Some shops just need a break/fix person for when things go sideways. Some want systems that generate revenue while they sleep. Some want a partner actively improving the engine behind the scenes.
If your store is fighting you, it's not supposed to feel that way. That's a job for Your Factotum.
