Ongoing Partnership
Ronin Brothers Comics
Most projects here are a site build. This one's different. I built Ronin Brothers' Shopify site in early 2025, and the relationship grew from there. By mid-2025 they came back wanting something bigger: a presale and eBay automation system. The contract started that November, the build itself wrapped up around May, and it's been ongoing maintenance and retainer work since.

This is the same idea Hill City's metafields started with, taken much further. Hill City's system shows static fields: grade, key issue status, shown or hidden per item. Ronin's system does that and adds a real discovery layer on top: creators and characters aren't just displayed, they're clickable and searchable, filtered against a database of over a thousand products. Every enriched listing links straight out to its Grand Comics Database source entry, so the storefront isn't just showing metadata; it's surfacing real reference infrastructure behind each product.

What this project includes
- Full Shopify site with Manage Comics 2 integration
- Automated product enrichment: creator and character data pulled from the Grand Comics Database, structured into searchable, filterable storefront fields
- Presale automation: dedicated presale template with visible badging (a yellow "PRE-ORDER!" flag on listings), entire lifecycle (listing, cutoff, fulfillment) driven automatically by Final Order Cutoff and street dates from a custom database, not managed by hand
- New Releases collections populated automatically from street-date data, no manual weekly curation
- eBay integration that goes beyond inventory sync: proprietary metafields generate eBay-compliant listing titles (respecting the 80-character limit and eBay's release-date disclosure policy) independently of the Shopify product title, so one listing doesn't have to compromise the other

This is the kind of work that doesn't fit neatly into "storefront"; it's the Data and Automation layers in practice, not just in pitch.
